Tom Hanks, Lady Gaga, JLo In Star-Studded Biden Inauguration

During Joe Biden’s swearing-in as US President on January 20, with Jennifer Lopez also performing at the largely virtual gathering, it was announced Thursday, Pop Superstar Lady Gaga would sing the national anthem.
The two music stars will headline an inauguration like no other, with protection rising in Washington against attacks by outgoing President Donald Trump’s militant backers after they invaded the U.S. Capitol last week in an effort to reverse the election results.
Local authorities are asking individuals to stay away from the ceremonies in order to minimize the likelihood of violence and the swearing-in turning into a superspreader case for Covid-19.
Instead, Biden’s inaugural committee said that under the theme “America United” it will broadcast five days of programming that “will honor inaugural traditions while safely allowing more Americans than ever before to participate from their own homes.”
On January 18, Martin Luther King Jr., the calendar includes “United We Serve,” a National Day of Service. Day; a national COVID-19 Memorial to Lives Lost on January 19; and wreath laying on Inauguration Day at Arlington National Cemetery.
The committee would install a “Field of Flags” in place of the hundreds of thousands of people who normally crowd the National Mall for the inauguration, which it said would “represent the American people who are unable to travel.”

Tom Hanks will host the 90-minute “Celebrating America” opening show and feature more musical performances, by Jon Bon Jovi, Justin Timberlake and Demi Lovato, and will be shown on all major US networks, according to US media sources.
During the ceremony itself, held on the steps of the Capitol building, Gaga and Lopez will perform, still bearing the scars of the January 6 assault.
