WhatsApp is working on the automatic deletion of messages after the recipient reads it. This came in Beta version of WhatsApp and the company is working on self-destructing messages its own. This is an effort to protect user’s privacy and work on get rid of the messages completely as Snapchat did. The app will allow users to play around this and feel free to avail of this new feature pretty soon.
The latest beta version 2.2.83/84 of Facebook-owned WhatsApp messenger service gives users the option to delete messages for private chats. As you have noticed in groups you can delete chat for you or for all which already added in previous developments, now this feature is going to work on a personal conversation.
Open a person’s profile ⇨ New option right above the “Encryption” prompt ⇨ Click on it and a pop-up which lets you set a timer for automatic deletion. The feature is presently available for a range between 1 hour to 1 year.
